MY YANKEE CANDLE DIARY – LOVES ME LOVES ME NOT, MOUNTAIN LODGE, LOVELY KIKU, BLUE LAVENDER and more! (week ending 23rd March)

Beach Wood is always a favourite of mine and it’s a much misunderstood fragrance. It is a very light fragrance (at least in jar form) but if persevered with, it can be one of the most delightful. Its deep, almost oily tones are unique.

Pink Sands is another fantasy fragrance like Beach Wood, but this one is definitely fruity bringing a sense of the tropical to the atmosphere of exotic faraway places.

Willow Breeze is a bright, fresh tart which I used a couple of times during the week. It was most fitting was during the couple of hailstone showers on Sunday afternoon!

And so to Mountain Lodge. I still can’t quite believe I own this fragrance, it has been top of my wish list for so long. It is very deep, but be warned it is also very light. You will need to give Mountain Lodge a long, slow burn to get the best from it. It is a delicate, polished perfumed wood kind of a fragrance with a hint of the outdoors. I’ve said before it reminds me of a great stately hotel in the wilderness – gentle, but highly atmospheric.

A perfect way to start off your day off work is with Camomile Tea. Its warming, slightly sweetened tea flavour being the way to ensure that your rest day carrys on in style.

I enjoyed Blue Lavender from the new Garden Time range more second time around. It’s a sharp, true Lavender scent that will set the senses tingling with spring freshness.

Must admit we were inspired to burn Lovely Kiku on Saturday night after listening to Rosa’s comments the day before during the Yankee Candle TSV shows on QVC. We both adore Cherry Blossom and Rosa mentioned that Lovely Kiku had it as a mid note. So not being quite brave enough to yet burn our sole jar of Cherry Blossom, the lovely, Lovely Kiku was the next best thing!

Honeydew Melon gave a nice powdery fresh melon fragrance to Sunday morning but the weather quickly deteriorated!

We hung onto spring into our evening though with a burn of Loves Me, Loves Me Not. It is the absolute scent of a fresh spring meadow with the grass freshly invigorated by rain. Touched with white florals – this fragrance is a delight.
