My April Yankee Candle Diary

For one reason or another we are only burning 'on the go' Yankee Candles at the moment, not lighting any unburned ones (and I've a few of those!!). Even with that restriction, April was such a changeable month weatherwise that I was able to run through a much wider selection of Yankee scents than normal.

37 different scents this month...so let's go!

STAR PERFORMER

Vineyard never disappoints, it's such a strong thrower. Very sweet grapes, more like a sweet/candy version of grape than grapes from a vine, but that's not a problem!

We've finally reached the end of our original label Pink Sands jar - this seemed to go on for ever! Not a problem though as Pink Sands is such a heavenly scent.

Another long term on the go scent is Country Heather. Such a perfect scent for spring, it brings to mind a windy, wet walk in the countryside.

An the first flash of sunshine for April. Spring is in the air with the effervescent Pink Hibiscus!

At the end of a sunny day, nothing is better than the gingery verbena of Ginger Dusk.

White Gardenia is simply one of my all time favourites and so strong too!

Berrylicious always warms up a coldner night with its baked blueberry aroma.

A non Yankee fan recently visited our house and he said he loved Wedding Day. His wife who likes Yankee Candles doesn't like it, so he burns it when she goes out! That sums up Wedding Day, it's not for everyone, which is perhaps surprising given its name and intent. Wedding Day is actually quite masculine as it has a smokiness to its white floral medley. Fortunately we both love it, so no problems for us!

Salt Water Taffy is like the stickiest sweets you can imagine. In my view it is the best sweet/candy like fragrance that Yankee Candle have ever produced.

Mountain Lodge is always a delight to burn. Beautifully polished wood against a fresh backdrop, but with a rich warmth to it!

Someone asked on TEAM YANKEE about soapy florals recently and Ocean Blossom was as close as I could get to a recommendation. Perfect for a spring rainy day.

Another jar in our use 'em up pile is Red Velvet. I have to say each burn has been an absolute delight though and I never tire of it.

As April took a turn for the worse, Warm Spice made everything cosy again!

...and Pain Au Raisin wasn't far behind! Another power thrower for those of you who like really strong scents.

Lavender Vanilla has a real sophistication to it and it is always a pleasure to burn.

Exotic Bloom is another powerhouse. A beautiful, heady perfumed aroma.

The sun came back - and Loves Me Loves Me Not just sums up spring or summer gardens.

Vanilla Lime is a great favourite. Such a simple name and concept but a stunning fragrance.

Lemon Lavender as I've said before will always make your home feel sparkly and clean (even if you've just brushed your dust under the rug!)

April showers aplenty - but let's dream of the beach! Actually Beach Holiday has a beautiful rainy, sea kind of aroma so it suits a wet day.

And aloha...soaring temperatures in April? One thing is for sure, you know it won't last! Olive & Thyme was a great start to go along with the unseasonably warm weather.

...And Riviera Escape is a fine seaside accompaniment!

So lovely to have had such an early warm spell. The stunning red fruit aroma of Beach Garden is terrific on a warm day.

Sage & Citrus is a great warmer evening scent. A surprising aroma that is so much more than its name would have you imagine.

And my lovely old favourite Midsummer's Night. Just the best aftershave fragrance!

Enjoying the warm evenings continued with the delightful, one of a kind Pink Lady Slipper.

One of the best blue seaside fragrances Yankee Candle ever made was Beach Blue. Quite bath salts like, but that's not a criticism!

The delightful caramel and oud mix that is Oud Oasis was next.

It's been too long - welcome back to an old friend, Midnight Jasmine!

A glorious spring day and the beautifully authentic Lilac Blossoms!

And that was it - temperature right back down again, so time to warm things up with Vanilla Satin.

It almost felt autumnal towards the end of April, so Wild Fig, why not?!

Lots of rain! The surprisingly floral Storm Watch always goes well.

Still feels like autumn so a dash of Silver Birch!

Whiskers On Kittens has become a big favourite in our house. A very unique musky aroma.

And it wouldn't be an Andy's Yankees burn diary without Peach & Lavender!

And to wrap up April, the beautiful Cozty Sweater. Frustratingly light, but divine when you can pick up the aroma.

Back soon - thanks for reading!
